What does the audience learn just before Mrs. Boyle's death in the play, The Mousetrap?

Just before Mrs. Boyle is murdered, the audience learns that she was the magistrate who sent three children to live with foster parents. The children were all abused and the youngest killed, but she disavows any responsibility for the tragedy.
