What is the Legend of Lady Howard in the novel, The Moor?

Lady Howard, a member of the nobility, lost several husbands to strange deaths. Though she was never charged in their deaths, she was a suspect. The legend goes that Lady Howard was forced to spend eternity riding in a carriage made of her dead husbands' bones.
