Grete's attitude toward her brother begins to change in Part II. Rather than coming into the room and opening the window, she now does no more than bringing him his tray before backing out. By the end of Part II, Grete turns on gregor completely, insisting that something be done about the monster he has become. She even insists that they have to 'get rid of it.'
