Growing up in a family in which his father was a CIA operative, Michael Osbourne was not initially interested in a similar career. While in college at Dartmouth, however, he was "spotted" by a CIA recruiter who saw in Michael intelligence, charisma, and the ability to speak several languages. Eventually, Michael agreed to this career, primarily because he had no other employment prospects upon graduation. He became an independent field operative, working primarily in counter-terrorism, under the cover of an international businessman.
