Mr. Hendriks is the investor/mobster of highest status summoned to Scaramanga's hotel for what amounts to a summit meeting. Narration reveals that he is an agent of the KGB, and performs the narrative function of increasing the pressure on Bond as he draws closer to fulfilling his mission of eliminating Scaramanga. He is portrayed as being devious, aggressive, and unencumbered with a conscience.
