In Section Four, Dot and Bertie spend the evening with Sabine going through photos. Their presence provides her with a sense of togetherness that helps her in her time of need. When they invite her to come to Nebraska, she considers the offer, foreshadowing the story Sabine will learn about Parsifal when he was Guy Fetters.
