The Lucky Ones

What prolepsis (representation of a thing as existing before it actually does or did so) does the author employ about Stephanie's future?

The narration employs prolepsis, informing the reader of what will happen in Stephanie’s future. The narrator says that Stephanie “doesn’t know yet” what is “waiting for her” (21), speculating on the different futures Stephanie could have as a prostitute for the paramilitaries, or a captive waiting to get over the border to escape Colombia. The narrator then speculates that “maybe it’ll be something else… she could be lucky,” and go to school in “Europe or Australia” (22).
