Describe symbolism in The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

The tent is an important symbol of Estraven's and Genly's journey. It is a haven from the desolate cold, the isolation and the world. All hate and anger between the two men are left outside the tent. It is the one place where they can find comfort and warmth.
