How does the author use foreshadowing in The Last Song?

In Chapter 25, Ronnie allows her self-doubts to get the better of her, but eventually she gives in to her heart by going back to Will. The reader, however, sees this episode as foreshadowing, a suggestion that walking away from Will might be a habit for Ronnie when things grow difficult.
