did sir lancelot break the code of chivalry by ignoring lady of shallot in the poem

Since there is nothing in the poem to indicate he was aware of her existence and clearly his arrival came as a surprise to her, I can see no reason to think he had breached his knightly oaths.  I would argue that his reaction to her when confronted by her body would suggest he was being true to his oaths when clearly all the local people were terrified of her, even when dead.
