Why doesn't Hassan tattle on Amir when he is caught doing inappropriate things in the novel, The Kite Runner?

Hassan feels a kinship and loyalty to Amir. This kinship leads him to respect and enjoy their companionship enough to to not tell others when Amir does inappropriate things.
