I feel that Amir unconcious mind is full of fear and inferiority complex. He is unable to accept as well as give love openly.The main tragedy of his life is demise of his mother.drought of love makes him weak. He is not sure about what he should do and often his decisions are guided by conservative emotions .In toto his unconscious mind is full of mixed picture, good and bad both.
