When the waitress questions why Lou does not carry around a weapon he tells her he does not need one. He thinks people are only aggressive when you are aggressive to them, for example if you pull a weapon on a drunk man his first instinct is to react in kind. Though people question his choice, he says he has never been proved wrong.
