How does Trina help the group to escape from the infected people in Chapter 58?

Trina shouts at everyone to stop, and surprisingly, everyone does, as though she has some sort of magical power over them. She tells them she is one of them now, but those who have come have come to help them, and they must let them go. The infected stop and clear a path, and Trina tells Mark to lead them up.
