How does Ellena feel when she finds out how Vivaldi's parents feel about her in the novel, The Italian, or, the Confessional of the Black Penitents?

Ellena's pride is wounded by Vivaldi's parent's beliefs about her and the proposed marriage. She does feel love for Vivaldi, however. This causes Ellena to feel confused and not sure of how to proceed.
