“The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot is a non-fiction account of the story of a poor, black woman whose cancer cells became a major force in the world of medical research. Henrietta’s story is told from a reporter’s viewpoint. She gathered as much material and documentation as she could find and interviewed as many people involved in the case of Henrietta Lacks and her calls that she was able to locate.
