A Kongsberg Colt .45 from the 1920s is used during peacetime military service by Andreas’s father. It is also used by Andreas’s father during his work with the Resistance. Following the death of his father, the weapon passed into Andreas’s hands. It in turn becomes the murder weapon with which Andreas kills Olesen. The Kongsberg is hidden in the seat cushion of Andrea’s wheelchair, leading him to gloat in the end that he has literally and figuratively been sitting on the murder weapon for ten days.
