what strategy does biblo use to try to win the riddle contest not including his final " what have i in my pocket

I think Bilbo just tries to come up with some good riddles that he thinks Gollum won't get. Gollum, for example, might not remember eggs from his past. The answer to one of Bilbo's riddles was an egg. The strategy comes in when he asks his last question.
