What does the fact that Bilbo is willing to give up gold and jewels to have it suggest about the worth of the Arkenstone?

This tells us that Bilbo is more interested in peace than gold. I don't think Bilbo was ever really interested in fortune. His Took side for adventure motivated him to join the expedition. Bilbo knew that how valuable for peace the Arkenstone is.
