How does the author use foreshadowing in The Great Train Robbery?

The new security measures implemented by the railway company seem overwhelming, but again Pierce manages to overcome them by disguising Agar as a corpse. It is an interesting turn of events, foreshadowing a successful robbery in the next section of the novel.
