In the book The Great Gilly Hopkins it is asking for the similarities and differences of Mrs. Trotter's house and Nonnie's house, but it really doesn't say much about the houses.

The question might not be directed at noting the houses' physical similarities, but rather, the differences in the way the people in the homes live their lives and treat those around them.
