Who is Ottilie from The Glass Room and what is their importance?

Ottilie is Viktor and Liesel's daughter. She is born before the House is completed. Ottilie spends most of her childhood traveling with her parents during the war. When they settle in America, Ottilie flourishes and creates a family. She also takes care of her mother when she goes blind.
