Who is Rodrick in the novel, The Getaway (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 12)?

Rodrick Heffley is Greg’s older brother. Rodrick is a teenager and because of this he spends a lot of time in the Teen Zone of the resort. Greg has a separate storyline to the rest of the characters, known as a subplot, in which he begins a romantic relationship with a girl with a lip ring who he meets in the Teen Zone. Rodrick is annoyed with his family because they keep forcing him to leave the girl behind when all he wants to do is spend more time with her.

Rodrick’s storyline reflects the theme of expectations versus reality because Rodrick expects the romance to make him happy but, when he discovers the girl kissing someone else, he finds out that in reality it has made him unhappy.
