Friedan narrates her book mainly from a firstperson, or personal, point of view. Some of the time, this point of view is her own. Says Friedan, "Gradually I came to realize that the problem that has no name was shared by countless women in America." In other cases, Friedan includes first-person quotes from some of these countless women. Says one woman, "I ask myself why I'm so dissatisfied.
