Riumii's poems include life lessons rather than conflicts. During his lifetime, however, there was intense religious conflict, specifically, the European Crusades. This setting might possibly illuminate readers as to why those writing from within this period of time and culture were emotionally aroused by the author's extensive use of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim prophets. He also treated Hinduism and other religions with inclusive tolerance.
