How do Marcus and Esca retrieve the eagle?

In the wee hours of the morning after the feast, while the entire village is asleep, Marcus and Esca creep out of the hut. They sneak into the barrow where the clan keeps the Holy Cs. Careful not to disturb the relics there, Marcus takes the Eagle. Esca uses a branch to erase their footprints from the earthen floor as the two men exit. Quickly the two men mount up and make their escape.
