Odell Titsworth lived in Ada at the time of Haraway's disappearance. He is described as a mean drunk, who often had confrontations with the police while inebriated. When he was sober, however, Titsworth was a quiet, gentle man. Two days before Denice's disappearance, Titsworth was drunk, and fighting with his girlfriend. His mother called the police, and during the ensuing struggle, Titsworth broke his arm. This fact proved important when both Tommy Ward and Karl Fontenot claimed that Titsworth was with them during Denice's kidnapping, rape, and murdered. Although Titsworth was initially arrested, he was later cleared because of the broken arm and the fact that he would have been physically unable to rape and murder anyone.
