Jordan's writing is simple and straightforward, the language never straying beyond early secondary school level. The character development and the pace of the plot are both quite strong and compel the reader from section to section. The characters are alive and believable, and Jordan spends a good deal of time describing their emotional states. The series, itself, is driven by plot and emotion, not by the intricacy of the environment, and Jordan is far better at winding together complicated storylines than he is at writing in elaborate detail.
