There are many good themes to be had from this story. The destruction creation dichotomy is one major theme. Everything needs to live and die. Old misery's house was a relic left out of a WW2 bombing that flattened the area around it. T wanted to destroy it as a work of art. Destruction hence becomes a form of creation. From the rubble of Old Misery's house will come something new.
