What is one of the main differences between characters Reich and Powell?

Both Powell and Reich can be described as misfits. It is this component of Powell's nature that permits him to identify with Reich and to realize that they share many of the same characteristics. The difference is that Powell has a social conscience and Reich is almost completely selforiented.
