Chirstopher's father can teach us that telling the truth, no matter how much it hurts, is the best thing in the long run. He can teach us that untruths often leave us feeling worse than actually telling the truth from the start. From his actions, we can learn that there are times we might do something to protect others that will actually end with a deeper hurt.... and that a loss of trust builds barriers higher than any truth we can tell.
