Who is Fyodor Dostoevsky from The Creators and what is their importance?

Fyodor Dostoevsky became the idol of Western literature despite his novels laying siege to Western values. He believed the materialism of Western science and mathematics was a denial of freedom. Drawing on his experience in prison, Dostoyevsky wrote the novel, Crime and Punishment, the story of a struggling soul.
