Wilson is Alfred's uncle. He is married to Dorothy. Wilson has a good job and owns a nice house out in Queensl, which Alfred, Aunt Pearl, and her daughters visit occasionally to have dinner. He is described as a practical man, who tells Alfred that the world is changing for “colored” people, and Alfred needs to find himself a job that offers opportunities for advancement.
