In the story, Brother Fox Catches Mr. Horse, the narrator begins by saying that he'd watched Miss Sally - the lady of the house and the first little boy's mother - rush around, wiping away dust that wasn't there and plumping pillows that didn't need anything.... actions that always foreshadowed Miss Sally's frustration that Uncle Remus was simply sitting around the house, or that she was waiting for a chance to "preach" to her husband.
