The Chrysalids

Consider our own society, and the possibilities of leaders on the world stage “thinking together”, and if this were to happen in a peaceful and collaborative way, how could our world be different?

in chapter 14

The Sealanders claim to be the New People, of superior intelligence and ability.
They are “think-togethers” who are going to build a new kind of world. They refer
to the Old People as isolated half-humans with no means of consensus.
Consider our own society, and the possibilities of leaders on the world stage
“thinking together”, and if this were to happen in a peaceful and collaborative
way, how could our world be different?

I think this wants your opinion rather than mine. In many ways our own world today reflects this book. There is a strong sense of tribalism and identity politics today. That is people have a set of beliefs and reject people who think differently. We see this in politics (think Democrats and Republicans), religion, and even in your own school.
