Sins in Waknuk (The Chrysalids) are committed when anyone does anything out of the ordinary. Sameness is to be holy while doing something original or unique is a sin. And to that end, Uncle Axel sees race distinction as a deviation from the norm, and therefore are sinful because of their ethnicity.
