The Chrysalids

In chapter 6 Uncle Axel is used as the mouthpiece for the author's own commentary on beliefs and behaviour of the people of Waknuk. What is the most important part of his account?

Also what is the author satirizing? What is the major sin committed by the people of Waknuk according to Uncle Axel?

Uncle Axel lets us know whats outside of waknuk. The author is satirizing race distinction.

-all races are viewed as deviations

- they themselves beleive they are closer to the image of god

- just because someone says something doesnt make it true

major sin= close mindedness
