Judenrat? In Chapter Five, we learn that those living in the ghetto of Lodz marched against the officials overseeing their lives in the ghetto. The people pleaded for work and food. Afterward, the residents were provided with schools, a soup kitchen, and a hospital. Note, these concessions were soon taken away and eliminated completely.
