The novel is written from two points of view which appear according to the story the author wants to tell. By switching between viewpoints, the author keeps the reader on their toes. When the author wants to focus on the story of Axl's and Beatrice's journey, he uses third person narration. The third person helps us get close to the main characters, Axl and Beatrice. There is no unreliable narrator here. The narrator wants us to know the truth just as much as Axl and Beatrice want to know the truth.
