Motecuhzoma from The Broken Spears 2007 Revised Edition: The Aztec Account of the Conquest of Mexico was the king who lived in Tenochtitlan. He misinterpreted the signs and thought that the Conquistadors were gods, which ended up in the total anhilation of his people. His people turned their back on him and they refused to speak to him. Later, he is killed by the Spaniards, but the accounts don't say how.
