Who is Michael Dorris from The Broken Cord?

Michael Dorris is the main character and protagonist in the novel, The Broken Cord. He is well educated, hard working, and even though he hasn't found a woman with whom he wants to share his life... he wants to become a father and sets out to adopt. This is Michael's story.... a story of adoption, single parents, the system, and the unconditional love he shows for not one but three adopted children.
