What is the theme in The Bridge Across Forever: A Lovestory by Richard Bach?

One main theme in the novel is spirituality, namely, Bach's quest for spiritual advancement. Over the course of the novel, we are exposed to various concepts and beliefs about life and love, as well as his knowledge that for him.... there has to be one woman, one soulmate, with whom he can happily share his life.
