Examples of Imagery:

For the first time since they met, she feels alienated from Joe. All the while she ate and drank and talked smoothly, inconsequentially, the feeling that there was something very wrong between them grew and grew, until there was a wall up. (Chapter 3 paragraph Page 114)

A family can be the bane of one’s existence. A family can also be most of the meaning of one’s existence. I don’t know whether my family is bane or meaning, but they have surely gone away and left a large hole in my heart. (Chapter 6 paragraph Page 242)
