Intellectual courage is a recurring theme in this book. The author referred to those who constantly supported the ignoring of Black Swan events in favor of statistical prediction as intellectual frauds. He urged them to get more meaningful careers and to show intellectual courage. The author considered himself to have gone the route of intellectual courage, and he admitted that doing so would attract a great deal of negative feedback. This did not stop him from continuing to promote empirical skepticism but seemed to have energized him.
