Zara is Florian's most loyal follower. She escapes with him to Regia when Cabarrus takes over Westmark, and acts as his ambassador to Mickle and Theo. She was an excellent soldier and has taken over a leadership role in the post-revolutionary Westmark. Zara has a sharp eye for other people's motives. She understands Justin and the reasons he is so angry. She knows what he plans to do also. Zara is very brave. Instead of being taken prisoner she bates the Ankari soldiers who capture her, until one of them shoots her.
