This book is written for a young adult and the language and meaning in the book reflect this. Although it is mostly filled with adventure, there is a little bit of romance thrown in. The author really knows his mythology and this comes through not only in the description of the multitude of characters within the book but also in the relationships and stories relating to the characters. Even if this is the first book of the series that a reader has ever read, it easy to understand what is happening in the story and how the gods are interrelated because the author explains the different scenarios and histories through natural dialogue.
