What is the setting of The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson?

The novel is set almost entirely in a smaller town in California. Much of the novel takes place in the large Cotswold cottage of the Fox family, where Claire Fox is busy much of the time restoring the old property. Having been damaged in the earthquakes, the property is in need of dire repair, but having previously restored brownstones in Boston, this is no challenge for Claire.
