Do you agree with Jeremiah renways approach to make amends? Explain your response

In Chapter Forty-Three, Jeremiah meets David at the lake and tells him the story of how he came to be there. He tells David that he was the one who pulled David from the water the night of the attack. Jeremiah then says that Elizabeth is waiting for him, and David goes to her. Without doubt, Jeremiah feels great remorse for his silence.... for remaining hidden when he could have made a difference as a witness in the attack against David and Elizabeth. He'd kept quiet because of his situation, but he couldn't live with being a part of covering up the facts.
