Importance of Cell Phone/Technology

As Jessie's main line of communication between herself and several other characters, her cell phone symbolizes connection and comfort. Two characters, Scar and SN, exist almost wholly in Jessie's cell phone for the majority of the novel, and although they are not physically present with her, she feels a sense of comfort knowing that they are "in my pocket at all times" (104).
