Who is Sigismund from Tamburlaine the Great and what is their importance?

Sigismund is the King of Hungary. He is a Christian king, who makes a vow to keep the peace with the Orcanes. When he breaks this vow by participating in a battle, which he subsequently loses, Sigismund is gravely injured. He repents before his death.
